Being a designer, brand consultant and artist, Chan and his company have won more than 600 local and international awards during his 40 years in advertising and design. Since 2000, he has ventured into the new arena of fine arts, being selected twice for Shanghai Biennale (2002 & 2006) and 'Hong Kong Contemporary Art Biennial Awards' (2009), Chan is also the first designer ever being invited to hold a solo exhibition in 2007 at the Shanghai Museum of Art. In June 2002, Chan was invited by world-renowned GGG – Ginza Graphic Gallery, to hold his personal exhibition in Ginza, Tokyo. His solo exhibition took place in Hong Kong Heritage Museum back in 2003.

There is a Chinese idiom – "For people, food is one of Chinese's favorite obsessions." Being acclaimed as the world's "Food Paradise", the local café culture in Hong Kong is the distinctive "trademark" which truly reflects the dynamic character of this city. As such, the design of the figurine uses various local food names to form a map of human body meridian points. This arrangement not only illustrates "eating" is vital for our health and wellbeing, but it also to resembles a "mass transport network" reflecting the convenience of all local food and café which could be find anywhere at anytime in Hong Kong.
