Architect Ida Sze and Billy Chan, who have been collaborating in competitions and designer projects since university, formed ida&billy as a means to broaden their perspective and sharpen their design skills. The duo like to create interest out of simplicity and an integrated whole. They find out the meaning and potential of a project through paying attention to the requirements and characters of the programmes, clients, users and sites, to arrive at a genuine identity for each particular project. The first prize winner of the 2010 Shanghai Expo Hong Kong Pavilion Concept Design Competition, they were named 40 under 40 by Perspective Magazine in 2010.
